Ted- Movie Review

Ted and I crossed paths a long time ago. Working in the film industry, I saw a snippet from Ted come out last year and thought it was hilarious! I sent it around to all of my friends who had no ideas where the hell I found such a thing.

I’ve been waiting for the release and finally made it along to the cinema last night to check it out. I’d heard mixed reviews so I tried to go in with no expectations. Well I loved it!

As the result of a childhood wish, John Bennett’s teddy bear, Ted comes to life and stuck by John’s side ever since – a friendship that’s tested when Lori, John’s girlfriend of four years, wants more from their relationship.

Both Mila Kunis and Mark Wahlberg were brilliant. I think it goes to show their great skills when having to act to a green screen, pretending that you’re in a serious deep and meaningful with a teddy bear. Aside from what you see in the trailer, there are additional moments of hilarity that catch you off guard.

When an obsessed fan of Ted’s and his tubby son try to capture him, Ted still manages to find the funny side. Hidden in the garbage bag he senses the ‘fat kid’ running and jokes that he wishes he could see him trying to run, it must be hilarious.

It’s very much one of those ‘you have to see it to appreciate it’ films. Definitely worth checking out with your mates for a few laughs. Only if you like the Family Guy type of humour though.

great review! have wanted to see it too, but wasn’t sure if it was more aimed at little kids. Sounds very entertaining however :)
